The Hairy Stemmed Rhipsalis is a quirky little creature with its fun furry looking fronds and funky growth habit. A definite stand out in the crowd kinda houseplant.
Even though these awesome plants fall under the Cacti clan they are actually more adapted to living in the Jungle, making them ideal indoor specimens that love high humidity and to be kept slightly moist.
In nature, they are epiphytic, meaning they grow on other plants without being parasites, due to this they make for fabulous hanging specimens, either in a hanging basket or paired with a complimentary planter and Macrame. However, these stunners make for a fun shelfie candidate as long as they are provided with decent indirect bright light.
If you treat your Hairy Stemmed Rhipsalis houseplant just right, it will reward you in the Spring season with white to pale pink fragrant blooms, adding to its delicate and quirky charm, a definite must-have in any collection.
Please note: Rhipsalis Pilocarpa is not known to cause harm to pets or humans.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Follow these instructions to keep you Rhipsalis happy & healthy.
Water: Keep moist to the touch during the warmer months of Spring through Summer, and allow your plant to dry between waterings in Winter to avoid overwatering, however, prolonged dryness must be avoided.
Light: Loves bright filtered light best. Avoid direct midday sunlight.
Humidity: Prefers high humidity but adapts well to average room humidity as long as the soil is kept moist.
Fertilize: Feed with a well-balanced fertilizer every 2 weeks through Spring and Summer. No need to feed in Winter.
